Working closely with senior delivery managers, clinical leaders, safeguarding leads, the People team and the Recruitment Manager, the postholder will help maintain safe, consistent and well-evidenced people practices.

The ideal candidate will build knowledge of our services and support a culture of openness, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities of role

·         Support the Recruitment Manager with safer recruitment activity, including candidate coordination, employment checks, professional registration evidence, references, interviews and onboarding as required.

·         Support recruitment and onboarding during peak periods, ensuring required pre-employment checks and compliance evidence are completed before deployment.

·         Act as a first point of contact for people queries, providing practical guidance to managers within the boundaries of HR, clinical governance and safeguarding procedures.

·         Support senior delivery managers and clinical leaders with people queries raised by their teams, escalating complex, safeguarding, clinical conduct or high-risk matters to the appropriate People, Clinical or Safeguarding lead.

·         Coordinate and support workplace investigations, including allegations involving conduct, professional standards, patient safety or safeguarding, ensuring matters are documented, confidential and escalated appropriately.

·         Support effective absence and capability management across the group, including occupational health referrals, return-to-work activity and consideration of fitness to practise or safe deployment where relevant.

·         Promote employee welfare and wellbeing, responding sensitively to concerns, signposting support and coordinating welfare checks following difficult or traumatic clinical incidents where appropriate.

·         Support induction and mandatory training compliance, including safeguarding, infection prevention and control, information governance, basic life support and other role-specific clinical requirements.

·         Support a culture of openness, learning and speaking up, ensuring staff know how to raise concerns and are treated fairly when they do so.

·         Champion Spark UK Medical’s values and behaviours, promoting a compassionate, inclusive and patient-centred culture across all teams.

·         Support workforce compliance and CQC readiness across the group by maintaining accurate evidence of recruitment checks, training, professional registration, supervision, appraisal and employee relations processes.

·         Maintain accurate, confidential and audit-ready people records, producing workforce compliance reports and promptly following up missing or expired evidence.

·         Conduct welfare and compliance visits to operational and clinical sites where required, escalating concerns relating to staffing, safeguarding, conduct or safe working practices.

Statutory Responsibilities

·         Comply with all relevant legislation, CQC expectations and Group policies, completing required training and keeping knowledge current.

·         Ensure people-related safeguarding, safety, accident and incident documentation is completed accurately and escalated through the appropriate reporting route.

Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, dignity and respect across all services and employment practices.
